ELECT BECKER FOR COMMON PLEAS JUDGE
APRIL 29, 2026
Today, I am proud to announce that Chris Becker is running as an Independent candidate for Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge.
This campaign is rooted in something simple, yet powerful: fairness, integrity, and a deep commitment to our community. Chris believes that justice should never be influenced by politics, but guided by the law, respect for every individual, and a genuine understanding of the people he serves.
Our courts should be a place where every voice is heard, where accountability matters, and where decisions are made with both wisdom and compassion. Chris Becker is committed to upholding those values and ensuring that our justice system reflects the strength and character of Trumbull County.
This is more than a campaign — it’s a promise to serve with honor, to listen with intention, and to lead with integrity.
Join us this November in supporting an independent voice for justice.
"I look forward to continuing to protect families in Trumbull County and believe my experience working with Dennis Watkins will be invaluable in serving you as a Judge at the Common Pleas level."
I have been an assistant prosecuting attorney for 36 years and served Trumbull County for the last 26 years. I have handled the prosecution of Donna Roberts, the only woman currently on Ohio's Death Row. The prosecution of Jacob Larosa, who burglarized. robbed and murdered 94 year old Marie Belcastro in Niles in 2015. I worked hand in hand with Trumbull County Prosecutor Dennis Watkins in securing the return of Claudia Hoerig who murdered her husband Karl Hoerig in 2007 then fled to Brazil before being returned to Trumbull County and was convicted of Aggravated Murder in 2019. I also was the lead prosecutor in the cases against Eugene Henderson and Eugene Cumberbatch, charged with murdering 11 year old Lloyd McCoy, Jr. and 26 year old Marvin Chaney. Both received life sentences. In 2014, I prosecuted and convicted David Martin, the most recent defendant given the death penalty in Trumbull County.
I was recognized and awarded the Ohio Prosecuting Attorney Association's Outstanding Assistant Prosecutor in the State of Ohio in 2014. I have also argued cases at the Eleventh District Court of Appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court. I personally appear before the Ohio Parole Board arguing against parole for numerous violent offenders.
There are many reasons why judges have come from the Trumbull County Prosecutor's office. As assistant prosecutors, we are consistently in the courthouse. That presence makes us uniquely familiar with the procedures, law and decorum in the courts. My decades of experience provide an important perspective in handling cases, dealing with witnesses, victims, and defense counsel.
I look forward to the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of so many other great prosecutors that have gone on to serve Trumbull County as Judges.
Respectfully,
Christopher Becker
